Hair: Love Loc Hair Hold Polish, which is an aloe vera based gel. I love it because with having locs, I am particular because some gels leave a lot of residue but this gel is very light and leaves no buildup. It keeps my edges laid and the rosemary oil is very soothing. Also, Eden Body Works Peppermint Tea Tree Oil: I use this product 2-3x a week and spray it directly on my scalp and massage it in to soothe any irritation and just maintain moisture. The peppermint scent is divine.
Makeup: I don’t do a full face every day. My daily routine consists of lipstick, eyeliner, blush and mascara. But first and foremost, and what I don’t leave the house without applying, is Victoria’s Secret Tinted Moisturizer in Deep. I discovered it after being sent product for a beauty feature I was airing for my radio show, Bag Ladies and I fell in love. It’s very lightweight and sheer but has just enough tint to even out my complexion and add a nice glow. I only need a drop and can apply it with my fingers very quickly. And, as an added bonus, it’s a primer and has SPF protection. I will sometimes wear just this and gloss and call it a day.
Skin care: My skincare routine is pretty simple. I almost always remove my makeup before bedtime and my fave cleansing wipes are Neutrogena’s Night Calming Cleansing Towelettes, which are very effective and even do a good job when I’m wearing waterproof mascara--which can sometimes be a challenge to remove. And the towelettes are scented with lavender. I’m a lover of smell goods. I follow-up with Specific Beauty Night Treatment moisturizer.
Nails: Honestly, I get my nails done on the regular. It’s one of the few opportunities for “me time.” But I do my own toes often and my fave brands are OPI and Essie because of the long wear and the colors, which are just gorgeous. You can find colors to suit your every mood.
Fragrance: I will just go with what I’m stuck on right now because my response could easily go on for days. I am head over heels right now for a limited edition scent by Jo Malone London called Silk Blossom. It’s light but has a very distinct scent and is not too sweet. A little goes a long way but it’s very sexy. Some of my other faves are Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Donna Karan.
Beauty Indulgence: What I indulge in most often are gel manicures and I typically rock my nail swag by having my Nail Stylist do a design of some kind. I try to keep my nail swag on point. And as for product, I am a fan of the Korres brand, which is carried in Sephora. The Body Butters are wonderful and they have a Pomegranate Toner that is amazing. The fig scent is one of my fave Body Butters so whenever I pick up something from this line, I consider it a treat to myself.
