Taj Hunter Waite, a Miami based interior designer and self-proclaimed conscious living enthusiast, is best known for her design-savvy approach to combining global influences with modern luxury. Her fresh approach to incorporating texture, color and pattern with timeless furnishings that result in a unique design aesthetic is what sets her apart from those in her field. Throughout her thirteen year tenure, she has garnered a range of experience in the areas of interior design, business development, and project and operations management.
Her myriad of accomplishments include, co-creator of a Business Outreach TV Program on Miami’s local WLRN Cable-Tap station titled “You and Your Architect” featuring local architects, co-founder of The Urban Collective — a lifestyle boutique that showcased limited edition crafts and objects d’art sourced globally with an emphasis on the continent of Africa, sustainability and social consciousness, contributing writer for Success South Florida magazine with her featured column titled “Design Miami” and creator of her design blog, All Things Taj which serves as a creative outlet as well as style and interior design inspiration for readers. The site was also established to bring awareness to local and global initiatives that seek to uplift disadvantaged women – something Taj is extremely passionate about. She is also as an Adjunct Professor in Interior Design for Broward College.

HAIR:
I’ve been natural since 2012 and, for those that can relate, the journey sort of turns you into a product junkie. I’m happy to share that my staple products for the past 6 months has been the DevaCurl Decadence line. I use both the No Poo Decadence to cleanse and the One Condition Decadence as a follow-up for moisture. Another fave from DevaCurl is the Heaven In Hair as a deep conditioning treatment and I sometimes use it as a leave-in. Living in Miami with the year-round tropical weather, I have to use a strong styling product and the consistent winner for me is the Eco Styler Argon Oil gel.
MAKEUP:
I’m very low-key with make-up. I’ve always used the MAC Studio Fix powder and my shade is NC45. In addition to my powder, I hardly ever leave home without a little eye liner on my upper lids and I use the Revlon ColorStay Eye Liner Crayon in Black. For the lips, I change regularly and I’m always on the lookout for a new and fun shade of pink in gloss or lipstick. When the mood strikes me, it’s bright reds and pinks.
SKIN CARE:
I have suffered with acne my entire life and I’ve used every acne regimen under the sun. My tried and true everyday skin care products are from Clinique. I use the entire Clinique Acne Solutions line.
NAILS:
I’ve routinely gotten Mani’s every other week for as long as I can remember. My nails have always been very strong and grow quite long. Pinks and corals are my go-to color codes.
FRAGRANCE:
Well, my bestie use to laugh at me all the time because I stay loyal to my fragrance. I say, stick with the one that gets you the most compliments and, that my friends, is Givenchy Amarige. I think I received my first bottle on my 16th birthday. I’ve received tons of lovely fragrance sets throughout the years and I try them BUT this fragrance just works with my aura and chemistry. It’s also been my husband’s absolute favorite for over 15 years and counting. When I wear it, I am constantly asked for what fragrance I’m wearing. I truly feel it was made for me {smile}.
BEAUTY INDULGENCE:
Ha! My beauty indulgence is catching up on my sleep. The hubs and our boys recently went away for the weekend and I spent the entire time sleeping, LOL. It was the most euphoric and rejuvenating {overdue} me-time.
