Each day began with one hour of sublime bliss in the Termé Hydrotherapy Circuit before starting my spa treatments. The Termé is a wonderland of rejuvenation featuring various hot and cold baths (including Hawaiian mineral salt, seaweed, mud, aromatherapy, and papaya enzyme), Swiss Jet Showers, a Japanese Furo (traditional wooden tub), saunas, steam rooms and tropical waterfalls. As a spa guest, one hour in the Termé is included in your visit before you start your spa treatments, followed by a complimentary invigorating full-body honey-mango loofah scrub to prepare you for your treatments.
After finishing the Termé, you can relax on the lanai overlooking the hotel grounds and the ocean , and sip on a refreshing glass of cucumber water to rehydrate before starting your treatments in one of the 40 treatment rooms. I don’t know what kind of cucumbers they use but this cucumber water tasted like no other that I’ve ever had. After my week taking in a variety of treatments, I’d have to say the Essence of ‘Olena and ‘Awa treatment was a stand-out. This uber soothing sensory experience combines a full body exfoliation, envelopment in a heated cocoon, and a traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage – 80 minutes of pure heaven. I was also able to get in a daily workout in the Fitness Center, which features a full array of elliptical machines, treadmills, stair climber and bicycles. I was even able to keep up with my Pilates classes (I tend to go into withdrawl when I’m traveling and miss them so this was an added bonus) – they also offer other complimentary classes like Spinning and Aqua Fitness.
