First things first, we have to ask, what inspired the band’s name?
Great question, it came from the idea of telling a secret about something great to your friends and family. Our products are the best kept secret. 😊
How did the brand get its start?
This is my second business my first business was called Thank You etc., a business that sent thank you notes to customers after making a purchase. It took another direction and we ended up selling Wedding Invitations from 3rd party vendors we partnered with and collated printing the invitations for free as our niche. I started this business the same way I started the first with the mindset of seeing a need for something in the marketplace.

Hydrolyzed collagen means that the collagen is broken into smaller, easier to process particles. One of the most well-known benefits of collagen is its ability to promote glowing, vibrant skin. This essential protein provides elasticity to the skin, helping it to appear more youthful and healthier. Collagen used topically is primarily for cosmetic benefits such as improving the texture of the skin and temporarily filling in fine lines and wrinkles. Collagen has an effective binding protein that can help restore the elasticity of the skin and fight other signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, crow feet, laugh lines, frowns and so on.
What are the other key ingredients in your Eye Gel Pads?
Aqua, Glycerin, Chondrus Crispus Powder, Allatoin.
What are their benefits?
Aqua Care (for the skin) – “Water” is used to soften rough or dry skin. It helps hydrate skin.
Glycerin is a humectant, as a humectant, (humectant meaning - retaining or preserving moisture- a substance, used to reduce the loss of moisture) glycerin works to moisturize the skin by drawing water from the air into the skin's outer layer. It also forms a protective layer that helps prevent moisture loss.
Chondrus Crispus is a skin conditioning agent and is useful in the control of viscosity in an overall product. Due to it being a seaweed extract it is packed full of vitamins and minerals which are vital to the maintenance of healthy skin.
These benefits include: Hydration – seaweed is full of humectants that draw in moisture from the environment, and vitamin E, also great for hydrating the skin. Youthful-looking skin – the amino acids in seaweed help your skin to plump up, smoothing out fine lines with its anti-aging properties.
Allantoin - Most notably, allantoin is considered an effective moisturizing ingredient when used in skincare. It’s gentle, non-irritating qualities make it an excellent addition to anti-aging products for those with sensitive or easily irritated skin.
How do you use these eye gel pads?
Start with a clean face and place the gel pads under your eye for 20-30 minutes. Then remove and clean under-eye area.
How many times can it be used?
We do not recommend re-use, although we have received feedback from our customers stating that they have re-used at a minimum of two times because there is a lot of the solution still left in the container. We will always encourage that customers wash hands before and after the process to minimize the risk of impurities reaching the product.
What’s the difference between an eye cream and an eye gel pad?
The main difference between eye creams and gels is the texture. Eye creams tend to be thicker and richer-feeling, while the thinner texture of eye gels feels light, refreshing, and silkier than the emollient eye creams.
An eye cream is an oil ingredient. As for eye gels, they are typically full of non-oily substances like silicone suspended in water, and active ingredients like ours that fight fine lines and sagging. If your skin tone is the oily side, you might want to use the eye gel pads over the eye cream.
What other products from your line can you suggest?

The idea behind multi-masking is instead of applying one full sheet face mask over your entire face, you apply multiple face masks depending on what skin care concerns you are targeting. What are the top 3 things women can do to improve their skin around their eyes?
- Use a cool compress. Wet a clean washcloth with cool water. While sitting up, apply the damp washcloth to the skin under and around your eyes for a few minutes using mild pressure.
- Cut down on fluids before bedtime and reduce salt in your diet. This will reduce the fluid retention that can cause bags under eyes.
- Don't smoke. Smoking can aggravate the problem of bags under your eyes.
- Get enough sleep. Try to get at least 7-9 nine hours of sleep.
- Sleep with your head slightly raised. It may help to add an extra pillow or prop up the head of your mattress. Or elevate the entire head of the bed a few inches. This helps prevent fluid from accumulating around your eyes as you sleep. Dark circles caused by fluid retention in your lower eyelids usually go away when you get up.

As a WOC who has her own business, what challenges have you faced in your industry?
My business challenges are not that different from any other business owners’ challenges. That is knowing where to invest your time and money where it will be most impactful from a business financial perspective. We want to create products that meet consumer expectations and at a price point that is affordable.
What advice would you give someone who wants to be an entrepreneur?
One piece of key advice I would relay is to network with other likeminded individuals and find a mentor, business coach, etc. Join SBA Small Business Association. They provide a wealth of information on how to start and run your business. They have training webinars you can attend live or view on your own time. They can also assist with partnering you up with a mentor or business coach.
