The 8th edition of Labo Ethnik Fashion & Lifestyle show was held at La Cité de la Mode in Paris, France, under the leadership of artistic director Vincent Mc Doom. The 4-day event was kicked off by a VIP fashion show, in partnership with Mizani and Maybelline, which included 300 guests in attendance.
I had the opportunity to attend the fashion show this year and I was very pleased by the quality of the show and the fashion. The models, the clothes and the crowd were all beautiful. As the official makeup brand, Maybelline’s makeup artists used a number of well-known products to create the catwalk look, “Glossy, Golden and Fresh”, chosen by Vincent Mc Doom for the VIP fashion show. Dream Matte Mousse was used for foundation for a unified and smooth skin look; Affinitone face powder was used for a matte finish. The eyes were of particular focus: Color Tattoo in Eternal Gold was used from the eyelids and streaked up into the hairline, dramatically elongating the eyes.
Mizani professional hair care was the official hair brand for the VIP fashion show. Hair was brushed back to accentuate the face and the makeup on the models. The TRUE TEXTURES range, Radiance High Gloss Serum and Mizani hairspray were used to sculpt all hair types, from straight to curly.
The Labo Ethnik exhibition was started in 2007 when its founder, Yvette Taï-Coquillay, decided to find fashion designers coming from the five continents, showcase their talent and offer them a professional platform in Paris. The Labo Ethnik is an accelerator of trends and a springboard for unknown talents.
