Tell us about how the Naked Bar Soap Co. got its name.
Originally we called the company Naked Bar but kept getting many risqué comments so we added Soap Co. to keep it clean. In all seriousness, the term 'naked' means undisguised, blatant, and devoid of concealment. The ingredients in our products are not only recognizable, but also pronounceable and do not require a dictionary. We did not want people to second-guess or question what an ingredient is or what it does. This is what we want the products in our company to represent - natural, completely obvious, not hidden or changed in any way.
What do you most want customers to experience when they use your bath and body care products?
Our products are made with all the love and care we have for our own families. Each is made by hand in small batches to ensure you are getting the very best quality. We want our customers to see, smell, and feel the natural ingredients that are used. Whether it’s bathing with our decadent luxury bath soaps, exfoliating with one of our foaming sugar scrubs, or relaxing with a bath bomb, you will be giving your skin a delightful treat!

Our May subscribers will receive a sample of your Pit Cream Natural Deodorant. How does it keep pits fresh without using the chemicals found in many antiperspirants?
Surprisingly one of the most important features of Pit Cream is that it is a deodorant not an antiperspirant. In commercial deodorants, active ingredients containing aluminum compounds clog pores to prevent sweating. Coconut oil contains lauric acid, which kills odor-causing bacteria. The combination of baking soda and cornstarch makes for a naturally drying deodorizer. Shea and cocoa butter are used for healing and moisturizing properties. Pit Cream is lightly scented with Tea Tree essential oil, which is beneficial for its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal functions. Combining all of these ingredients together formulates the ultimate odor fighting cream - Pit Cream!
What's next for Naked Bar Soap Co? Any new products we can look forward to for summer?
This summer at the Bar, we are putting together our Bit of Belleza summer sampler box. This box will feature items from each of our Naked product lines. This will give our new and our loyal customers a great opportunity to experience items they have wanted to try at an affordable price. Look forward to great summer-scented and relaxing products like Bergamot and Citrus foaming sugar scrub, stress-relieving Lemongrass Eucalyptus bath bomb, and cleanse with a bar of Lemon Coconut Oatmeal soap. It will make its debut in late June/early July 2014 with limited quantities.
