When did Caress get its start?

Caress has been dedicated to creating a multi-sensorial shower experience since launching our Body Bar with Bath Oil in the 1960’s. 

What inspired your Body Washes?

Caress launched in 1968 as a “body bar with bath oil” and since then has created products that give women soft, silky, delicately scented skin. What inspired IFUNDWOMEN of Color initiative?

Caress believes that every good idea should have a fighting chance. As the founding partner of IFundWomen of Color, we’re proud of our initial $1M investment to fund, support and elevate women of color founders in 2020 and 2021. This year, Caress has re-committed an additional $750k to diverse women entrepreneurs and The Caress Dreams Fund will bring 60 founders through crowdfunding accelerator programs culminating in a $5,000 grant for each entrepreneur and opportunities to pitch their businesses, while providing the coaching and creative services needed to execute successful fundraising campaigns.

Additionally, as presenting sponsor, Caress funded honorees of IFundWomen of Color’s 2022 Women’s History Month Pitch Competition, where the grand prize winner and first runner up received $20,000 and $10,000 business grants, respectively, along with annual coaching memberships. Four additional runners-up also received annual coaching memberships to provide them with education and access to resources from the IFundWomen of Color platform to drive their business success.

Most recently, Caress sponsored the IFundWomen July Pay-It-Forward grant with a $5,000 donation.  This is a monthly grant where IFundWomen reinvests 20% of their standard crowdfunding fee revenue into live campaigns on the site. July’s initiative aimed to support five women-led businesses/projects in the healthcare access, mental health, and reproductive health spaces, with 100% of the grant dollars secured going to the women who are serving their communities and closing critical gaps in our healthcare system.

Together with IFundWomen of Color, Caress is committed to fighting systems of inequity to ensure these diverse entrepreneurs have a strong foundation to bring their dreams to life and are set up for long-term success.
