There are certain scents that just say holiday. They conjure memories of family, friends, food, warmth and an overall good time. These scents obviously vary by location and culture but for me, in recent memory, holiday home fragrances center on pine, cranberries, spiced oranges, gingerbread, eggnog, warm apple cider, pumpkin pie, rum cake and more. Here are some of the holiday home fragrances I’m loving right now.
Nest Fragrances – Elton John
Quite possibly my favorite holiday fragrance of all time — burning Nest Fragrances Elton John immediately makes me feel happy. It is a masterful blend of Madagascar vanilla, exotic woods, smoky embers and juniper berry. Another upside is that 20% of the net proceeds from the sales of Sir Elton John’s candles is donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation. $38
Hillhouse Naturals Spiced Orange and Cinnamon
This five-ounce Christmas Collection diffuser reminds me of spicy orange scones. It has heady scents of ripe oranges, cinnamon, frosted cones, anise seeds, allspice berries and evergreen needles. $32.80
Glade Pumpkin Pie Diner
If you’re one of the first in line to get the season’s pumpkin spice latte, then this candle is for you. It fills the room with the delightful aroma of a sweet creamy pumpkin pie, all without the hundreds of calories that usually follows this delicious smell. $6.50
Diptyque Myrrhe
Here’s a little quiz — what did the Magi (Three Wise Men) bring to Mary and Joseph to celebrate Jesus’ birth? Frankincense and Myrrh. So, you see why you need this candle? It’s a little bit of the old and a reminder of the season. $60
Nest Fragrances Holiday
The name of this candle sums it up perfectly: Nest Fragrances Holiday is created by blending pomegranate, mandarin orange, pine, cloves and cinnamon with a hint of vanilla and amber. $14 – $45
Voluspa ‘Maison Holiday – Visions of Sugar Plum
You need not wait until the Night Before Christmas to have ‘Visions of Sugar Plum’ dance in your head. Burn this two-wick candle and you can have tart white plum, dried cherry with powdered sugar, toasted hazelnut and lemon zest fill your home with happy memories this holiday season. $16
